TAZ Sailing Dinghy
Topaz TAZ is Super Simple
It's obvious why thousands choose the Topaz TAZ to introduce newcomers to the sport of sailing. She is simple, fun and totally safe. At just 40kgs TAZ is easy to handle afloat and ashore, even for the smallest child. Total novice sailors are instantly at ease in the TAZ. She inspires confidence and within literally minutes, newcomers have already mastered the basics and are feeling comfortable and at home on the water.
Topaz TAZ is the most affordable family or school boat for one or two people. Two sails for two people - perfect for young families and ideal for sailing schools.
The TAZ is 2.95m in hull length and 41kg in hull weight. The TAZ has plenty of room for two children in its cockpit and unlike the Optimist has a high boom that should stay clear of small heads. The Design Category CE Certificate for the TAZ recommends a maximum of two people or 150kg, which in theory allows a suitably enthusiastic 100kg Dad to sail with his child.
